VALLEY HOUSE

Baabdat, Lebanon | 1635 SQM land - 620 SQM construction (Ongoing design)

The building site is overgrown with natural wooded undergrowth and pine trees on a steeply inclined hillside with a wide prospect over Baabdat valley. Based on this topography, a gentle ramp connects the main road to the roof entry. The project has a small footprint to preserve the natural terrain as much as possible and to minimize the cost. The house is conceived as a sustainable entity:
3 floors with wide glazed elevations let the natural light illuminate the interior and provide warmth in the winter season. Photovoltaic panels on the roof ensure passive energy throughout the whole year and rainwater is collected and re-used for irrigation.
